London-based Commodities People organise several annual events in Europe, the USA and Asia Pacific each year, bringing together professionals from across the commodities trading world.

With each event containing several themed conferences covering different topics, from digitalisation to net-zero, managing the content is a major challenge.

One of many issues facing Commodities People was that once initial drafts of the conference agendas had been published, subsequent changes created huge amounts of admin work.
This caused friction between the conference production, operations and marketing teams, which only intensified in the run-up to each show as stress levels rose and the number of last-minute changes accelerated.
Operations Director, Gina Dale explained:
“When I joined Commodities People the process for speaker / agenda management was… well it was a nightmare. I started to implement a system that whilst improving things dramatically was still not ideal.
I always had this vision for a magical system that allowed us to do things like easily adjust the agenda, automatically update the website and event app, and provide a portal for speaker information. Then one day that dream came true and I met Joe & Gordon!
Across 5 events (each with 4–5 stages & 100+ speakers) Lineup Ninja has been REVOLUTIONARY for the team. It’s intuitive which means our producers have been able to hit the ground running using it.
It’s saved hundreds of hours of work already for the Website/App Team and has also removed pinch-points and reduced friction between various departments.
We’ve also started to use it in ways that we never expected which has been a fabulous bonus and I’m really excited to see how the platform continues to revolutionise the way we work as time goes on.
The real cherry on top though has been the level of customer support from the Lineup Ninja team — I was quite worried about onboarding so many of the team onto a new system but the training and support has made this relatively pain free.
